"Lo que el Viento no se llevó".... An idea born in 2017 after Hurricane Maria passed through and changed Puerto Rico.
Experience these stories of resilience, strength and survival and witness how through Love, Unity & Empathy these and many more women have changed the world around them!
Is a photographic exhibition that shows the response of Puerto Rican women to the impact that Hurricane Maria had on the country and the consequent economic and social devastation that engulfs us.
The young and talented photographer Kristina Juarbe López tries to capture through her artistic approach the different women, in their different roles and social status, contributing to rebuild the country.
From the distribution of water and food to displaced people, the making of mosquito nets to prevent contagious diseases, the distribution of basic necessities to isolated families without electricity and water, the implementation of open-air kitchens for the communities, the help in the rebuilding roofs, to giving a hug and comfort to people who lost loved ones.
But reconstruction is also manifested through cultural and artistic efforts... in aesthetic expressions such as music, plastic art, dance and theater.
Undoubtedly, the women presented in this exhibition represent just one example of the spirit and strength that defines us as Puerto Ricans, in a commitment to social, economic and cultural development for our country.
